In 2012, Miami Heat point guard Mario Chalmers bought a condo from Drake for $2.4 million. Only two years later, he's put it back on the market for $4 million.
Yes, it is the condo from the "I'm on One" video.
The two-story condo has 5,475 square feet, five bedrooms, and five bathrooms. It's on the 49th floor of the Marquis building and sits right across from the AmericanAirlines Arena. The condo was originally two units, but Drake bought them both and broke down a wall, converting it into a megacondo.
Indeed, Drake used the then-barely furnished pad in his video for "I'm On One."
He also referenced the condo in "The Motto" while hitting back at Uncle Luke for a column he wrote critical of Drake right here in this very paper.
"Tell Uncle Luke I'm out in Miami too/Clubbin' hard, fuckin' women, there ain't much to do," Drake rapped. "Wrist bling, got a condo up on Biscayne/Still gettin' brain from a thang, ain't shit change."
So we're talking about a very important condo in hip-hop history here, and that was all before a two-time NBA champion moved in.
Chalmers' realtor tells the Wall Street Journal that the place is "competitively priced," and it probably will sell for far more than the $2.4 million Rio paid for it.
So ultimately, the last laugh is on Drake. If he had just waited a little longer to sell his Biscayne palace, he might have gotten at least an extra million more for it.
