Police are investigating a bizarre hit-and-run accident that occurred last night on 27th Avenue in northwest Miami-Dade that left a man dead. What makes the incident so strange is that the driver may not have even noticed he or she hit a man and that the victim may have purposefully wanted to die. Surveillance footage shows that the man was rolling around in the middle of the street shortly before he was hit.

Leo Valdez, a man who works nearby, tells WSVN that he saw the man, who remains unidentified, in the street before the accident and claims he wanted to die.

"'Kill me, kill me!'" Valdez claims the man screamed. "He stopped the traffic. He was going up and down the street ... He was acting like crazy."

Video surveillance footage obtained by WSVN show the man kneeling down in the middle of the stretch of 27th Avenue near 23rd Street around 10 p.m. He then dropped to the floor and began rolling between lanes. The footage doesn't seem to catch the actual hit, but the impact was so great it knocked the man's shoe off.

Police believe that the driver may not have even known he or she hit someone because the man was crouching well below the eye level of drivers.
