In April Doctors at University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center removed a 12-pound tumor from the face of Lai Thi Dao, a 15-year-old Vietnamese girl. You can see a picture of the tumor here, but be aware that it's pretty graphic.

She appeared before the press today for the first time since the operation and was all smiles. If she didn't receive medical attention the tumor would have been fatal. Luckily the International Kids Fund sponsored her trip to the States and the surgery.
