The search for Florida International University's next president began with 26 willing, talented contestants, but not everyone could make the grade. Some just weren't fierce enough. Others couldn't quite smile with their eyes. Some just didn't have that fire burning in their soul.

The panel in charge with the search put on their best Tyra Banks impersonations and announced the final four today:

  • Ronald Berkman, current FIU provost. Berkman has previously served in a number of administrative positions at CUNY. The man has an impressive resume
  • Brooks Keel, vice chancellor of research, Louisiana State University: Also previously served as an associate vice president at FSU.
  • Mark Rosenberg, Former Florida State education chancellor and Former FIU provost.
  • Carlos Santiago, chancellor, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee:(UM's president Donna Shalala had previously served as the chancellor of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. It would be like a double rivalry between those two).
The final choice is expected to be announced by the 25th.
