FIU Online Courses Is The Top Google Search Term For 2010

Justin Bieber, Chatroulette, and the iPad were the three fastest-rising search terms in 2010, according to Google's recently released annual zeitgeist report. Every year, Google analyzes billions of searches to reveal emerging trends in web surfing. The search giant breaks down the results by region and worldwide.

We are sad to report that "buggery in Hialeah" did not make the top ten in Miami-based searches. In fact, the most searched terms in the Magic City are rather dull.


Miami folks keyed in "FIU Blackboard," "dadeschools.net student portal," and "adrienne arsht center" more times than any other search term. You can view the entire top ten search terms originating from Miami on Google's microsite.

Haiti was the most popular search item in Google's news category, followed by the Turkish sporst club Besiktas, Chile, "earthquake," Lady Gaga and the iPhone 4. The Gulf of Mexico oil spill rounded out the top ten news search terms.
