Update: Nicolas has died, according to his brother, Abner Davis. Nicolas passed away around 5 p.m. today.
JoJo Nicolas, the former Miami Hurricanes football player involved in this morning's horrific crash on the MacArthur Causeway, had been partying at South Beach nightclub Mansion hours earlier, according to his social media posts. Around 5 o'clock this morning, Nicolas' silver Lexus wound up wedged beneath the back of a semi-truck. He was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital and remains in critical condition. Miami Hurricanes head coach Al Golden was reportedly seen at the hospital.
Police have not yet commented as to whether they believe alcohol was involved in the crash.
Nicolas is no stranger to tragedy. During his senior season at UM, he fathered a child who was born four months prematurely and died shortly afterward.
Lord please don't let me lose him over this. I couldn't deal
