Dwyane Wade has a message for all his hackers out there: He's going to sue you. He just has to figure out who you are first. In a lawsuit filed in Texas last Friday, Wade claims hackers have routinely logged into his personal email and social media accounts since 2007. But the suit was filed against "John Does 1-50," meaning he has no idea who he's suing.
In the suit, Wade claims hackers broke into two personal Yahoo! mail accounts and his Twitter account. In case you're wondering, Wade's public email address is [email protected]. Another, private account was kept out of the complaint.
According to the Dallas Business Journal, the hackers got their hands on some pretty sensitive information:
The hackers reviewed years worth of confidential and private information, including documents between Wade and his attorneys, communications between Wade and his ex-wife, business associates, advisers, family and friends, the complaint states. The hackers also sent sometimes vulgar and threatening emails purporting to be from Wade and used Wade's likeness to request private documents, the complaint says.Wade is seeking the return of all information stolen from the account, as well as some small amounts of money as repentance.
Problem is Wade and his legal team don't seem to know who they're suing. An IP address associated with one of the hacks was traced to Patrick J. Worthen, who resides in Tyler, Texas. However, other IP addresses associated with the hacks are from California, Canada, and the Netherlands.
Late last month, Wade posted a message to his hackers on YouTube, which we assume has not yet been hacked.
