Grant Everett apparently thought he was in some even more twisted version of Grand Theft Auto. After crashing into a pole, he drove away then stopped to let his passenger out -- a 7-year-old girl -- and continued on his way only to crash into more things.
According to The Sun-Sentinel, the event happened Tuesday night in Madeira Beach. Everett was driving his 1998 Toyota 4Runner when he hit a pole. The airbags deployed and hit the 7-year-old girl. A witness saw the accident and tried to help the girl, but Everett kept on driving.
He then drove to a causeway, stopped the vehicle, let the girl out and left her behind in the median. That's when another witness saw the child and called 911.
But Everett's wild ride wasn't over. He then rear-ended two vehicles that were stopped side by side. Not even that could stop him. He backed up and continued driving.
Eventually a deputy was able to stop him. Even after they got him into the backseat of the cruiser Everett still wasn't done. He tried, unsuccessfully, to kick the window out.
This is at least his fifth DUI arrest. Everett is also charged with leaving the scene of a crash with property damage, child abuse, leaving the scene of a crash with injuries, and driving with a suspended or revoked license.
No information was given on how the little girl was related to Everett.
