Sometime there's benefits to running for office even if you have a snowballs chance of winning. Take Annette Taddeo for example. The self made Colombian-American millionaire ran against popular incumbent Ileana Ros-Lehtnin for Congress last Fall. Though, she ran a surprisingly strong and respectable campaign that gave her a foot in the door of the world of politics she lost. There was some talk of an appointment in the Obama administration, but that never panned out.
Now, Taddeo tells Adam Smith of the St. Pete Times that she's seriously considering a run at the open CFO seat in 2010:
"I am seriously looking at it, but I haven't made a decision," Miami Democrat Annette Taddeo said of a potential run for chief financial officer.
...
She said she has not talked about the matter to Miami Mayor Manny Diaz, who also is being talked about as a CFO candidate..."
In other CFO news, former Republican CFO Tom Gallagher will not run again, and instead support Jeff Atwater.
