What do bass and barbecue sauce have in common? Well, they're the main ingredients of Dirtybird's infamous Golden Gate BBQ parties.
Of course, Dirtybird is the beloved label of San Francisco DJ-producers Claude Von Stroke and Justin Martin. And it's home to some of the most sleazetastic, fun-loving sounds in electronic dance music today.
All snobby music pretensions go flying right out the window at a Dirtybird party, because their sole imperative is to make you bounce like rubber to the fattest gut-rattling basslines conceivable.
As it turns out, in addition to their mastery of the booty clapping arts, the Dirtybird crew are also outdoor culinary aficionados who've been hosting BBQ-and-bass gatherings for ten years straight.
"This is the first time ever that we are taking the spirit of our Golden Gate BBQ party on the road," Claude Von Stroke tells Crossfade. "We are going as far as to fly out the very same grill master who has been cooking his special recipe carne asada at Dirtybird since 2002! The event will be outside with free Dirtybird stunners for everyone and all the amazing summertime bass and good times we've brought to Golden Gate Park for the last 10 years."
The lineup of Dirtybird's WMC BBQ party at Villa 221 on March 22nd includes Claude Von Stroke, Justin and Christian Martin, Leroy Peppers, Eats Everything, Worthy, Catz N Dogz, J.Phlip, Ardalan, and Justin Jay. The party is also a stop on Dirtybird's current nine-city tour in support of the new Hatched label compilation.
Expect to shake ass to heavy bass and stuff your face with tasty grilled meat. And believe us, you're gonna need that extra protein to fuel this all-night aerobics workout.
