It seems like everyone's throwing a party during Basel. From invite-only open bars to intimate musical performances, the exclusivity at some of these events is downright nauseating.

That's not the case when New Times throws a party, though. If you're willing to drop $10 on a day pass ($15 for the weekend) to Fountain Art Fair, you're invited to kick it with a DJ set by Brooklyn electro-poppers VHS or Beta on Saturday.

The New Times' party kicks off at 8 p.m. with a performance by Eduardo Rivadeneira's one-man project, Entresol. Blending elements of underground disco and classic electronica, homeboy drops seriously catchy, dance-y beats that'll "overwhelm your aural palette" sans laptop. That type of shit exceedingly rare in the 21st Century. Dude's a musical magician.

Then DJ Laura of Miami, host of WVUM's Monday night show Vamos a la Playa, follows Entresol's set with a large dose of awesomeness. Fact: Laura puts the "tempo" in contemporary art.

Once the dance music's lubricated y'all and you're feeling a nice buzz, VHS or Beta will grab you by the neck and slam you to the dancefloor with a nearly two-hour set. Can it get any better? Of course it can't. We'll see you at Fountain.

New Times Presents: VHS or Beta with DJ Laura of Miami and Entresol. Saturday, December 3 at 7 p.m. Fountain Art Fair (2505 N. Miami Ave, Miami). Tickets are $10 to $15. Visit www.FountainArtFair.com.
