The Downtown Miami scene is known for its burgeoning art district and hip club scene, but not so much for luxury bottle service. That's usually relegated to SoBe.
But two new club owners are hoping to lure some of those big spenders across the bridge while also giving the art crowd a little something new.
Partners Alex Saladrigas and David Silverman have taken over 62 NE 14th Street, formerly Urbanite Bistro, just down the street from The Vagabond
They've given it a modern-speakeasy makeover and filled it with a variety of art, food, liquor, and sexy jams. Now all they need is for you to come by The Station and check it out.
Thematically decorated as a 1960s gas station, Saladrigas and Silverman hope this nightlife spot will be something new and fresh for the Downtown scene.
"It's an art lounge restaurant," said Saladrigas, owner of Luxury Lifestyle Group, "kind of like a new movement that we want to start here in Miami."
The aim is to create a spot where partiers can come and hang out, relaxing over drinks or a late-night snack with special emphasis on highlighting art from a variety of different mediums. Inside, the Station will feature sculptures, fine art, street art, even furniture art, all which can be simply enjoyed or purchased.
The Station will stay open, serving drinks and food late into the night, even 8 a.m. the next morning. So Saladrigas and Silverman hope it will become a welcome hangout for night owls looking for a place to chill after hitting the clubs.
The Station is welcoming guests for a soft opening this Thursday, featuring local DJs and a surprise performance by an artist from NBC's The Voice. And the partners are proud to say tables, which went for $1,500 a pop, have already sold out.
But don't fret ... The joint will be having its official grand opening during Art Basel, to highlight the art on display available for purchase, featuring live painting and everything. And did we mention food and tunes?
