But it's not all bad
10. Ray LaMontagne. 8 p.m. Saturday, August 13, at the Fillmore Miami Beach, 1700 Washington Ave., Miami Beach; 305-673-7300; fillmoremb.com. Tickets cost $40 to $60 via livenation.com.
Ray LaMontagne's newest album, Ouroboros, sees the singer venturing into new psychedelic territory — to the applause of both critics and longtime fans. With production help from My Morning Jacket’s Jim James, LaMontagne's new sound has been compared favorably to Pink Floyd on Dark Side of the Moon. LaMontagne is a 42-year-old music veteran who's been performing since '99, but lately he feels more like a fresh up-and-comer, which is all the more reason why you should be front and center when he stops by the Fillmore Miami Beach in August.
9. Selena Gomez. Saturday, June 11, 7:30 p.m. American Airlines Arena, 601 Biscayne Blvd., Miami; 786-777-1000; aaarena.com. Tickets cost $36.50 to $96.50 plus fees via ticketmaster.com.
From dropping her sophomore solo album, Revival — in which the singer poses nearly naked as a way of taking control of all the haters and body shamers — to revealing to the world at-large she was battling lupus, 2015 was a pretty transformational year for Selena Gomez. With an accompanying tour — which will bring Gomez to the AAA in June — and three movie roles underway, it seems as if things are looking up for Gomez in 2016.
8. Miami's Endless Summer with Deaf Poets, Sleeptalk, Jet Black Alley Cat, and more. 6 p.m. Saturday, July 2, at Churchill's Pub, 5501 NE Second Ave., Miami; 305-757-1807; churchillspub.com. Tickets cost $5 to $7 via holdmyticket.com.
Sure, there are a whole lot of big national names bringing their diesel-chugging busses to the 305 this summer, but we can't forget about the locals. One standout show that seems quite appropriate for the season is Miami's Endless Summer, happening at Churchill's on July 2. Miami rock will be well-represented with bands like Deaf Poets and Other Body. Out-of-towners will stop by to sweat it out onstage, too. L.A.'s Sleeptalk and Nashville's Jet Black Alley Cat will come too, helping to make this ten-hour show one of the summer's best and, probably, sweatiest. 7. Weezer & Panic! at the Disco's Summer Tour 2016 with Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness. Tuesday, June 14, 7 p.m. Bayfront Park, 301 Biscayne Blvd., Miami; 305-358-7550; bayfrontparkmiami.com. Tickets cost $35.70 to $71.70 plus fees viaticketmaster.com.
Is your pop-punk heart fluttering with excitement? Well, it should be. Weezer and Panic! at the Disco will be embarking on a co-headlining summer tour, and the two acts are coming to Miami in June. The even more exciting news is that both bands will be hitting the road with new music. Weezer's tenth studio album (and fourth self-titled production) was released April 1, and Panic!'s latest Death of a Bachelor dropped in January. That gives you more than enough time to learn all the lyrics and scream them at the top of your lungs.
6. RE:Union Music Fest with Wale, Wyclef Jean, Walshy Fire, and more. 2 p.m. Saturday, June 18, at Virginia Key Beach Park, Miami; 4020 Virginia Beach Dr., Miami; 305-960-4600; reunionmusicfest.com. Ticket info TBA.
Featuring Wale, Wyclef Jean, Walshy Fire, and a smattering of other artists, the RE:Union Music Fest is meant to celebrate sounds from communities of African descent. Hip-Hop, reggae, jazz, Afro-Cuban salsa,
Trick Daddy at Churchill's is sort of like a bacon and eggplant smoothie. It might taste really weird or oddly amazing, but we won't know until we try. Trick Daddy has been popping up in a lot of odd places lately. He showed up at Beyoncé's concert at Marlins Park. He's been trying to sell his very own line of spices online. At this stage in his career, Trick is saying yes to life and trying out all sorts of new experiences. So get your ticket now and prepare to absorb what's sure to be a loud, bizarre, uniquely Miami show when two 305 mainstays finally join forces.
4. Modest Mouse & Brand New. Friday, July 8, 6 p.m. Bayfront Park, 301 Biscayne Blvd., Miami; 305-358-7550; bayfrontparkmiami.com. Tickets cost $35.95 to $59.95 plus fees via livenation.com.

Justin Bieber has certainly matured since being arrested in Miami Beach on charges of drag racing and drunk driving. In fact, there was just about no controversy during his surprise Magic City visit back in December. Come July, the Biebs will be crashing the American Airlines Arena for a two-night stand as he brings his Purpose World Tour to the 305. His new album has ushered forth a new era of Bieber, and Miami will get to witness it up close.
2. The Cure with the Twilight Sad. Sunday and Monday, June 6 and 7, 6 p.m. Bayfront Park, 301 Biscayne Blvd., Miami; 305-358-7550; bayfrontparkmiami.com. Tickets cost $25 to $125 plus fees via livenation.com.
Robert Smith once told Reuters he finds it "so pitiful when 'goth' is still tagged onto the name the Cure." But like it or not, when most people think goth rock, they think the Cure. And for the first time in eight years, Smith — the only remaining member of the group — and his band will be serenading "Lovesong[s]" to all their Florida fans for two nights straight. 1. Drake: Summer Sixteen Tour with Future. Tuesday and Wednesday, 7 p.m. August 30 and 31, at the American Airlines Arena, 601 Biscayne Blvd., Miami; 786-777-1000; aaarena.com. Tickets cost $45 to $3,429 via ticketmaster.com.
Drake's upcoming journey across the country is easily the summer's most anticipated tour. Enjoying the expected success that came with his most recent release, Views, Drizzy will be stopping by Miami with his
