Friday, September 4

*For those of you down south, prog-pop band Dreaming in Stereo plays an early (8 p.m.) free gig at the Apple Store in Dadeland Mall, Miami. Click here for full details.

*West Palm-based up-and-comers Surfer Blood return from a recent spate of NYC gigs to play a CD release party at Propaganda in Lake Worth. Opening are XOXO from Orlando, and Lil Daggers from Miami, and admission is just $5. Click here for full details. 

*Transit Lounge in Miami kicks off the long weekend's festivities with performances by Elastic Bond and Batuke Samba Funk -- guess what blend of music that latter act plays? As always at Transit, admission is free, Click here for more details.

*Spaced-out local indie rock band The Humdrums and the Persons plays at the Wallflower Gallery in downtown Miami. It's always worth supporting this can-do little venue. Admission is $8. Click here for full details.

Saturday, September 5

*Amazing DJs for a really low price: Heidi and Audiofly, both known for their searing electro-house releases for the German label Get Physical. They play at the Vagabond in Miami, and tickets are only $10 in advance. Click here for full details.

*As a sort of afterparty for the Depeche Mode show at the BankAtlantic Center, Bjorn of Peter Bjorn & John (DM's opening act) DJs at White Room in Miami. As with most last-minute nightlife deals, no word on exact cover, but it definitely should be $10 or less. Click here for more details.

*Celebrate the new Hollywood digs of the toy/art/etc. store Pinkghost. DJ Brian Hunker spins, and the party is free. Click here for full details.

*Sundays belong to the Miami multiculti roots reggae act Jahfe. As usual, they'll take the stage at the Clevelander in South Beach for the weekly "Island Love" party, but afterwards, they head over for a late-night soiree at Transit Lounge in downtown Miami.
