It's the first Friday of August, and that means the folks at the Bass are hosting South Beach's hottest happy hour.

Rock, Funk, and Soul Sound Clash. Friday, August 3, 9 p.m., Tobacco Road, 626 S. Miami Ave., Miami; 305-374-1198; tobacco-road.com. $5. Ages 21 and up. Three local artists and a special guest from New York City meet up with Sound Clash.

Xela Zaid, Arbor, and Button Goodlander. Friday, August 3, 8 p.m., Sweat Records, 5505 NE Second Ave., Miami; 786-693-9309; sweatrecordsmiami.com. Free. All ages. Billed as a night of "instrumental and vocal experimentation," this is one of those can't miss Miami events.

ArtOfficial. Friday, August 3, 10 p.m., The Stage, 170 NE 38th St, Miami; 305-576-9577; thestagemiami.com. $10. Ages 21 and up. Blending up a little hip-hop, funk, and jazz, ArtOfficial takes over The Stage this weekend.

Jesse Rose. Friday, August 3, 11 p.m., Treehouse Miami, 323 23rd St., Miami Beach; 305-614-4478; treehousemiami.com. $10. Ages 21 and up. Jesse Rose invades Treehouse with his genre-bending electro dance music.

Elastic Bond. Saturday, August 4, 10 p.m., PAX, 337 SW Eighth St., Miami; 305-640-5847; paxmiami.com. $10. Ages 21 and older. Elastic Bond is one of those bands that we'll never get tired of watching perform.

The Butchers, Skinny Jimmy and the Sting Rays, and others. Saturday, August 4, 8 p.m., Churchill's Pub, 5501 NE Second Ave., Miami; 305-757-1807; churchillspub.com. $7. Ages 18 and up. Forget that tiki-tiki club music, it's all about rock 'n' roll in Little Haiti.

Tusk. Saturday, August 4, 11 p.m., The Garret at Grand Central, 697 N. Miami Ave., Miami; 305-377-2277; grandcentralmiami.com. Free. As long as there's killer music dance to, we'll be there every week.

Cleveland Jones. Saturday, August 4, 11 p.m., Will Call, 700 NE Second Ave., Miami; 305-577-5900; willcallmiami.com . No cover. Ages 21 and up. Just call him Cleveland. 'Cause this Miami-based tropical troubadour just wants to get intimate with you at Will Call's free late-night Saturday summer sesh.
