OMG! Surfer Blood's gone late night!
About 15 hours ago, West Palm Beach-based Surfer Blood sent out an ecstatic tweet to their 6,894 fans announcing a January 9 appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Several minutes ago, Crossfade's inbox was hit with a press release confirming the good news.
Surfer Blood will perform "Miranda," a single off last year's Tarot Classics EP, on Monday night's episode of Fallon's variety program. Over 130 people on Facebook "Like" that John Paul Pitts and company are heading to New York City for a late-night romp around studio 6B at 30 Rock.
Sweat Records' Jsin Jimenez wrote, "Whoa! Congrats guys!" and some dude named Mickey Martinez says, "sawoop dadadoop." We guessing that's a compliment.
Twenty more Surfer Blood diehards retweeted the news in an effort to make "Surfer Blood" a national trending topic; "PeopleIWouldRawDawg" and "Happy Three Kings Day" are currently among the top Twitter trends. There's currently no sign of Surfer Blood creeping past those two.
Following the Late Night gig, Surfer Blood's scheduled to hit the studio sometime in February with producer Phil Ek to start working on their sophomore effort. That record is due out later this year.
