The South Beach Music Exchange won Miami New Times' award for Best Musical Instrument Store in 2010. And if you're drunk and wanna buy a guitar at 2 a.m. on a Tuesday, it's still the city's top all-hours music store.
Marty, who runs the place, is a night owl. And whether the Deaf Poets need to borrow a bass or an out-of-town band needs guitar strings minutes before a show, he's the man they go to.

When you walk in, Marty might be jamming behind the counter.
There are guitars, basses, mandolins, ukuleles.
The Exchange has even got instruments we've never heard of.
There are lap steels and amps.
The walls are full of electrics.
And a Rhodes organ.
Marty also does instrument repair. Here he is fixing a violin.
This is his workshop.
