While an alleged scuffle with Frank Ocean and a highly publicized brawl with Drake suggest otherwise, Chris Brown is a changed man.
At least that's what his on-again, off-again girlfriend Rihanna tells Rolling Stone.
"I decided it was more important for me to be happy," the singer says in the latest issue of the magazine. "Even if it's a mistake, it's my mistake."
Opting to "live [her] truth" rather than let public opinion narrate her life, Rihanna suggests that her reconciliation with Brown is conditional.
For starters, he's not allowed to hit her anymore.

"You see us walking somewhere, driving somewhere, in the studio, in the club, and you think you know," she says. "But it's different now. We don't have those types of arguments anymore."
Instead, Rihanna and Breezy "talk about shit," and "value" one another.
"We know exactly what we have now, and we don't want to lose that," Rihanna says.
But what happens if Brown relapses and falls back into the Ike Turner school of thought? Will Rihanna still think Breezy's "Da One" for her?
No.
"He doesn't have the luxury of fucking up again," she says. "That's just not an option. I can't say that nothing else will ever go wrong. But I'm pretty solid in the knowing that he's disgusted by [his past behavior]."
A lot of folks were.
