Make no mistake, Rick Ross' Teflon Don is selling pretty briskly for a rap album that makes few pop concessions -- especially in the dismal 2010 buying climate. But last week, the first of the album's release, it seemed that Ricky Rozay might be able to knock Eminem's Recovery out of its reign at the top of the Billboard 200.

Early sales predictions for Teflon Don put first-week units moved around 170,000 to 180,000. This, in fact, turned out to be just right: According to Nielsen SoundScan numbers, Teflon Don's final first-week sales were an impressive 176,300. Unfortunately, though, that wasn't enough to top Em. In the same week, Recovery sold another 187,200 copies, putting the record's total sales figure at about 1,669,600 to date. This means Recovery is enjoying its fifth straight week in the top slot of the Billboard 200.

This also means that Teflon Don is the first Rick Ross album not to debut at number one. Still, it slides in comfortably at number two. Meanwhile the album's second single, "B.M.F. (Blowing Money Fast)" still hovers on the Billboard Hot 100, R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, and Rap Songs charts.
