Is Rick Ross a gangsta?
Well, he'll be playing one on cable television.
An omnivorous student of gangland myths, the larger-than-life rapper is finally taking his flair for the dramatic to the small screen, joining the cast of Starz's Magic City, a late-1950s crime drama set in Rozay's real-life hometown, Miami.
Yup ... Big homie has officially become a Bawse TV actor. And he even pops up in the show's new season two trailer.
Unggghhh.

If you've never seen the Starz series, it's all about the Miramar Playa hotel on South Beach, owner Ike Evans, his mobster business partner Ben Diamond, and a sexy-sleazy world full of mostly fictionalized movie stars, crooners, pro boxers, superich socialites, cops, and criminals in the years leading up to the Communist revolution in Cuba.
At the end of last season, Evans gets arrested on a murder rap. But now he's made bail.

There's tons of tantalizing detail in this Magic City teaser. But it doesn't reveal shit about Rozay's role. In fact, he literally gets three seconds of screen time.
UPDATE According to the Starz publicity department: "Legendary rapper Rick Ross [will be playing] 'Butterball,' the proprietor of an illegal Cuban/American gambling house in Miami known as a 'bolita,' the numbers racket."
And appropriately, the Maybach Music mogul marks his television debut with a soon-to-be-classic Ross-ism.
"God is good," the Bawse TV actor barks, "until he ain't."
