UPDATE R. Kelly has cancelled his Love Letter Cruise.

Pitchfork stepped all over Crossfade's toes today, jumping onto our musical vacation beat and scooping us on the Love Letter Cruise.

Hosted by R. Kelly, this slow-jammin' cruise is a romantic five-night getaway aboard the Carnival Destiny, setting sail on October 1, 2012.

For about $1,500 per person (based on double occupancy), you and your boo will visit some of the most exotic ports of call in the Caribbean (read: tourist traps) while enjoying "continental breakfast in bed" and all-you-can-drink "non-carbonated beverages." Not to mention, a "fabulous [shipboard] performance" by the R&B crooner himself.

In fact, R. Kelly's scheduled to perform twice on board, although Love Letter cruisers are only guaranteed entry to one show. We'll keep our fingers crossed that Kelly shows up to the port on time and doesn't miss this overpriced party.

We wouldn't want a repeat of his October 2 appearance at Revolution when Kelly left guests at his $40 Black and White VIP Party hanging for five hours.

What a dick.

CANCELLED R. Kelly's Love Letter Cruise. Monday, October 1, to Friday, October 5, 2012. Carnival Destiny. Ports-of-call include Grand Turks, Half Moon Cay, and Nassau, Bahamas. Prices range from $999 to $2,999 per person. Visitconcertcruise.com.
