Award season may be well behind us, but then, Univision doesn't really know the meaning of the word "season" does it? After all, between the Latin Grammies, Lo Nuestro, Juventud and possibly a few others we're forgetting, they seem to air one a week. Still, this one--Premio Juventud, for those that lost track--is a fairly big one. The Spanish language answer to Kids Choice Awards, the show features a younger bent right down to the artists' garb, eschewing gowns and tuxes for hipper duds. Still, there's the undeniable glitz and glamour, bling and...something beginning with "b," to keep the alliteration train rolling. Ooh! Bands.
Anyway, past years have been a who's who of the celebs kids find interesting, ranging from sports to film to music, and several completely arbitrary cats like "My Idol Is," which apparently falls under pop culture. This year promises to be no different for you Latin music fans. On hand to help lend some star power, Belinda, Camila, Thalia, Wisin y Yandel, Dulce Maria, Anahi, Ivy Queen and way too many more to name. Tix to the shindig at the BankUnited Center on UM's campus are still available, ranging $55 to $75.
