He lost "M.J. at Summer Jam" to propofol, but Jay-Z still has "Obama on the text" to keep him company. In fact, they hung out last night.
President Barack Obama spent part of the evening with celebrity superfriends Jay-Z and Beyoncé, and about 100 guests of their guests at a $40,000-per-person fundraiser. The Roc couple hosted the event at their New York City lounge, the 40/40 Club, and helped raise $4 million for Obama's re-election efforts.
Meanwhile, it's believed that Mitt Romney and Clint Eastwood took turns poking fun at an empty chair while the President discussed policy and hip-hop with Jay-Z.
Politico reports that Beyoncé made a brief introduction before President Obama spoke. "I can't tell you how proud we are to host tonight's event with President Obama," she said. "We believe in his vision."
Maybe it's because Bey sees a little Jigga in POTUS.
"[Jay-Z and I] both have daughters," Obama told the crowd. "And our wives are more popular than we are. So, you know, we've got a little bond there. It's hard but it's okay."

After joking that the First Lady and their two daughters were "mad at me because they're not here," Obama called Beyoncé a "role model" before tackling the elephant in the room: This November's presidential election.
"I don't want people to be complacent, but I don't want people to be discouraged," he said. "We're on the brink of an election. But more importantly, we're on the brink of moving America in a direction where we're going to be more just, more fair."
