It would be easy to make unusual and extraordinary demands on Nobodys Hero. And it would be easy to dismiss them too, if you're feeling like a prick.
This band's pedigree is like the Wu-Tang says: "Nothing to fuck with." Seriously, you're talking about the combined experience of guys who've tenured with the Vandals, Slapshot, Against All Authority, Guajiro, and 3240.
Clearly, I expect throat-grabbing punk rock from these dudes. But even if they had chosen to release either an easy listening album or some fifty-minute long "concept" album of what it means to drink batidos de trigo outside of Churchill's at two in the afternoon, I would've bitten and been happy.
The musical chops are that good. This is the sound of a a well-oiled band. This is what people mean by musical chemistry. Dual guitar and vocals from Joe Koontz and Dave Santos lead a violent assault on the senses atop the tight rhythm section of Rod Rushka on bass and Doug McKinnon on drums. These guys are not teenagers. But they're still full of disenfranchised anger and brutal energy. This is for punks and punqueros alike!
There is no filler here, you wouldn't expect this band to use filler on their work; that is called "pride" and "artistic integrity" which they have both of by the bucketfuls. This is the kind of punk rock replete with energy, anger, and tropical heat. And it does not grow overnight.
