Just one week removed from PepsiCo's announcement that Lil Wayne would become the face of Mountain Dew, the multinational corporation's love affair with Young Money talent just became a threesome.
Forbes is reporting that Nicki Minaj has singed a "massive," multimillion-dollar deal with Pepsi to become the face of a new beverage. Glu Agency's Derek Jackson tells Forbes that Minaj has already filmed a commercial for the beverage company that should air in the next two months.
"[The commercial will] be a segue into a new beverage Pepsi has, called 'Pop,' and she'll be the face of the brand," Jackson says. "It's going to be explosive."
Explosive indeed. Pepsi is made with phosphoric acid, a gnarly mineral compound that's used as a powerful rust remover. We wonder what it does to stomach lining?
But processed foods are neither here nor there. We're just celebrating the fact that Nicki Minaj knows how to chase that paper. Last year, Forbes ranked her among the top earners in hip-hop, becoming the first female to break into the magazine's Hip-Hop Cash Kings list.
She raked in more than six-million dollars in 2011 and is well on her way to surpassing that figure this year, proving she's not a "Stupid Hoe," but an astute businesswoman.
