A normal 9 to 5 job in Miami can be as hard to come by as money in your pocket after a night at the club. But fear not, party animal, just apply to work at the newest club on South Beach, Amnesia.
A modern remix of a classic venue at the same location that most recently hosted Opium and Privé. It also once housed some of the hardest hitting speakers in all of clubland at the original Amnesia (South Beach, not Ibiza) starting in 1994.
Another interesting note: French electronic music producer Bob Sinclar is the new resident DJ and co-owner. And he's looking for cocktail servers, hosts, bartenders, security, bar porters, and bus people.
Sinclar will be playing the club once a month. And bucking the trend of bottle service-dominated floorspace, Amnesia will be heavy on the dance-floor real estate, baby. That means plenty of room to move about the megavenue. Expect 18,000 square feet, two indoor floors, and a killer rooftop.
Between the extended DJ booth, six moving LED walls, 70 VIP tables, and the French connection, Amnesia is poised to reclaim its title as a nightlife capital unto itself.
Visit 136 Collins Avenue at 2 p.m. on October 10 and 11th to apply in person. The club officially opens October 21 with a headline set by Bob Sinclar and friends.
But if you don't get the job, no worries ... At least five people will probably fuck up and get fired in the first month, and then you'll have your chance again.
