Perhaps part of Murk's success can be traced to the old adage Two heads are better than one. An extra pair of hands doesn't hurt either. It's so much easier and so much more fun when you play with your partner. When you play a set [individually], you have to plan it out hours ahead. With [Murk], I can just go off of Oscar's momentum, Falcon says of trading off DJ duties throughout the night. Another Murk trademark is a fusion of underground house and popular music in remixes. From Top 40 regulars Seal, Britney Spears, and Jennifer Lopez to more obscure artists such as Yoko Ono and The Scumfrog, the variety of songs that have received the Murk shot of adrenaline are not limited by genre borders.
Murk has just finished wrapping up a new production. Expect a bunch of new music [for WMC]. This time of year [DJs] go nuts getting records ready for conference. I spend most of my day going through new stuff, says Oscar G from a restaurant in Montreal. Conference partiers can expect a few nights of pulsating progressive beats from the two guys who put Miami on the house-music map.
