The mixtape is mixed by Miami hip-hop veteran DJ, AnonymsOne. Who has been known as a great supporter of Miami's long thriving hip-hop scene. Having spent a number of years hosting various shows at FIU's college radio station, AnonymsOne definitely established himself as a connoisseur of sorts when it comes to anything related to the hip-hop culture and of the golden age of hip-hop music.
With that being said, AnonymsOne saw a perfect opportunity to link with the organizers of the latest Street Wars event to put together a mixtape called the Streets Wars 6 mixtape influenced by the classic boom-bap hip-hop sound. Yet, he took it a step further by making the mixtape almost exclusive to South Florida based talent. Anonyms mentioned that after creating the tape, it just reminds him that "regardless of the direction of hip hop, this grassroots movement will never die." And in this tape, its evident.
The tape itself is filled sample infused rhythms, 90's styled drum kits and songs with local mainstays like Wrekonize, Serum, Dirty Dem, and Flow Official - along with various other acts that you may or may not know, but definitely need to. Overall it's a tape that makes you appreciate this style of hip-hop. It's a shame that radio stations run away from any artist that isn't part of their three or four flavors of the month...and also seemingly run away from an artist with any ounce of intellect in their songs.
