Everybody's favorite (ironic?) Miami bass/freestyle/electro quartet Miami Bass Warriors are finally getting around to celebrating the release of their 12" EP. The record was released back in July and features staple cuts "Going Back to Calle Ocho" and "Bro, That Chick's a Basser," as well as a new track, "Breakfire."
Now that the side projects and European tours are over, Otto von Schirach, Debbie D, Jose El Rey, and El Tigre will finally come together tonight and perform live at the Vagabond in what we hope is a set that features more than just three songs -- perhaps a few covers, guys? Also on the bill is dirty electro-rap duo Basside, hipster dance troupe Dancetasy, and renaissance women the TM Sisters.
The Warriors were also recently featured in the Miami Herald (guess they took a break from covering bad pop music and outdated acts for a change), where they discuss their sound and how it relates to the "real Miami."
Anyway, we don't want to leave you without giving you a taste of what to expect tonight. We want to call this the online premier of "Breakfire" since you pretty much can't listen to it anywhere else unless you own the 12", and if you don't, you can order it directly from the group. Listen to the track after the jump.
