With holy praise and spiritual righteousness, Matisyahu scratches the Haile Selassie out of reggae music and gives it up to G-d.

Born Matthew Paul Miller, the musician made it all the harder for us to say his name when he began using the Askenazi version. This former Phish-head and current vegan knows a thing or two about touring and performing. He's been packing joints (not those kinda joints) since his first album, Shake Off the Dust... Arise, came out in 2004. But his popularity is about a lot more than just a Hasidic Jew singing rasta music. Matisyahu is a genuinely talented and prolific artist. And he's certainly no musical fundamentalist, seeking out interesting collabs with Muslim beatboxer Kenny Muhammad, Akon, and others.

This summer, the Jewish reggae MC is heading up a 43-date tour. And Miami Beach is one of the chosen cities. So catch Matisyahu when he brings a full band and a full beard to the Fillmore this Thursday.
