Normally a peaceful event with little incidence of violence, this year's Love Parade in Duisberg, Germany was struck by tragedy when a crowd crush killed 21 people and injured over 500. Organizer Rainer Schaller would later inform the press that the Love Parade will be discontinued out of respect for the victims.
DJs United (world-renowned EDM producers Paul Oakenfold, Armin van Buuren, and Paul van Dyk) released the single "Remember Love" this month as a tribute to the victims of the 2010 Love Parade tragedy. With its cheesy melodic trance motif and epic sweeping vocals, this sounds like pretty much what you'd expect from the chart-topping trio. Check out "Remember Love" after the jump, followed by our picks for the Top Five Lamest Tribute Songs of All Time.

1. USA For Africa - "We Are The World"
The tribute/charity song that started every celebrity and their mothers singing for a cause. It's hard to diss this song and all the stellar talent behind it, not to mention the millions of dollars they raised for African famine. But call us cynical. This bunch of multimillionaire music industry fat cats aren't convincing anybody about "being one" with the starvation-stricken inhabitants of rural Sudan who they'll probably never meet in real life.
2. Band Aid - "Do They Know It's Christmas?"
Do they care? They're African, for fuck's sake -- they have other religions. The white-Anglo-Christian hubris of this song is truly appalling. Also, this may have been the instant when we started loathing Bono and his obnoxious, self-important political crusading. Stick to writing derivative yuppie rock ballads, mate.
3. 24K Gold Music Shows - "America Cried"
The video speaks for itself. A cry from the darkest, trashiest recesses of the American soul.
4. Toby Keith - "Courtesy Of The Red, White And Blue (The Angry American)"
America! Fuck yeaaaahhh! What could be scarier than a beefy redneck with a goatee and cowboy hat singing, "Justice will be served and the battle will rage / This big dog will fight when you rattle his cage / An' you'll be sorry that you messed with the U.S. of A. / 'Cos we'll put a boot in your ass, it's the American way"? They could have just sent Toby Keith over to Iraq commando-style, and he would have won the war in a day. He would have exterminated them all with this hideous, abhorrent song.
5. Young Artists For Haiti - "Wavin' Flag"
Is it too soon to talk shit about this one? It's just an annoying song, pure and simple. Catchy in the worst sense of the term.
