As Kraftwerk would say: “Wir fahr'n, fahr'n, fahr'n auf der Autobahn.” Or as the non-Deutschländers among us might intone: “We drive, drive, drive on the motorway.”
Yes, those are lyrics from the pioneering German electronic band’s essential 1974 album, Autobahn. But they are also rudimentary directions for how to arrive at the show, when Ralf Hütter and his crew bring their 3-D Concert Tour to North America this fall.
The Kraftwerk road trip, a 12-date crosscontinental trek, will begin in Canada before heading across the border to Portland, Austin, Nashville, and seven other U.S. cities. And indeed, Hütter and his fellow travelers will be stopping at downtown Miami’s Olympia Theater at Gusman Center for their first South Florida concert since Ultra 2012.
We are already chanting along: "Now we are switching the radio on/From the speaker sounds/We drive on the motorway."
UPDATE After selling out its first 3-D Concert in Miami, Kraftwerk just announced a second show.
