For a semi-professional pothead, Nola spitta Curren$y is a surprisingly superproductive dude.

Over the last 27 months, he's somehow smoked endless amounts of kush while still finding the energy and personal motivation to drop five studio albums (2009's This Ain't No Mixtape and Jet Files, 2010's Pilot Talk I and II, and this year's Covert Coup), knock out two times that many mixtapes, and score a deal with Warner Bros. Records for his own boutique label, Jet Life Recordings.

Now if Crossfade consumed that much marijuana, the extent of our productivity would be naps and giggles. And yet Curren$y's promising to release four more rap records -- including ten-track hotboxer Weekend at Burnie's, double-disc epic Muscle Car Chronicles, stoner sequel Pilot Talk III, and Jet Life sampler Puff Daddy -- before 2011 is over.

Despite his admitted affinity for the sweet leaf, though, don't even try to call Curren$y a weed rapper 'cause he will not be happy in any whatsoever with that assessment.

"I think the term weed rapper is wack," he told MTV RapFix last month, emphasizing the point by saying, "It's fucked, I don't like weed rapper, I don't like that category and I don't like the muthafuckas who think it's cool."

Curren$y as part of the Jet Life Tour with Trademark Da Skydiver, Young Roddy, Fiend, Corner Boy P, Nesby Phips, Monsatbeatz, and Smoke DZA. Thursday, June 16. Grand Central, 697 N. Miami Ave., Miami. The party starts at 7 p.m. and tickets cost $20 to $30 plus fees via ticketweb.com. Ages 18 and up. Call 305-377-2277 or visit grandcentralmiami.com.
