The Internet has always been a cesspool of rumors, misinformation, and innuendo.

But the rapid rise of the blogosphere, the Facebook boom, and the viral proliferation of Twitter have cranked up the online noise to about a billion decibels.

And the latest debunked bit of web bullshit: Some hearsay that Jersey City spitter Joe Budden was set to score a solo record deal with Eminem's Shady Records.

Now it's true that Budden's supercrew Slaughterhouse -- Crooked I, Joell Ortiz, and Royce da 5'9" -- has been signed to Slim's imprint since the beginning of this year. So the chatter wasn't totally scattershot.

But as Jumpoff Joey told rap scene reporter Mr. Peter Parker: "I heard the rumors. People tweeted me all day long," he said. "I'm not being signed as a solo artist."

In other words, Joe Budden isn't headed for Shadyville. But it ain't no web bullshit that he'll be hitting the 305 this Friday. That's been verified.

Joe Budden with Sin, J. Nics, and DJ Keen One. Friday, June 10. Eve, 1306 N. Miami Ave., Miami. The show starts at 8 p.m. and tickets cost $20 via joebuddenmia.eventbrite.com. Ages 18 and up. Call 305-995-5050 or visit miamieve.com.
