III Points is coming back.

Yes, 3P Productions had so much fun with this past year's inaugural three-day celebration of art, music and technology that a 2014 edition's already in the works -- but not without a few changes.

Instead of Thursday to Saturday, the fest will span the weekend proper. So mark your calendars for Friday, October 10, through Sunday, October 12, and get ready for even more music, more art, and more technology seminars.

"I think [last year] went beyond our expectations, but I do feel there were a lot of areas that we're going to do a lot better," says 3P's David Sinopoli. "We were pressed and rushed with putting a lot of communication out in a short period of time, and we had a lot of adjusting that was going on too."

That's the beauty of getting your second go. With the official date planned and announced months in advance, Sinopoli and the rest of the 3P crew can get the word out to artists, venues, musicians, and tech companies, preparing themselves and the community for a more seamless and comprehensive III Points experience.

For instance, Sinopoli and his friends know that many participants were forced to pick and choose from the packed 2013 schedule, which led to missing some prime opportunities in favor of others. That's why, with the 2014 fest, organizers plan to carefully spread out events and engagements. And hopefully, participants won't have to be so choosey.

But some things won't change too much. Like the label showcase BBQs, which will be back and bigger than ever, as well as Mana Wynwood, AKA III Points party central, which is making room for more DJs inside as well as some headlining live performers on an outside stage.

More than anything else, though, 3P Productions looks forward to augmenting the fest's third element.

"There's a technology component to it that we really want to focus more on this year," Sinopoli says. "I think we did a really fantastic job with the music and the art. We need to go to the next level in each of those and also bring the tech along with it."

III Points would love to hear from local tech companies, artists, and venues that may be interested in getting involved. The official Facebook page is the easiest way to reach them.

"The motivation behind what we do is to keep everything very open and involved," Sinopoli insists. "It's built into the way we do the festival and how we work in multiple venues and work around the community, so I think our goal is to keep it that way."

Now, with the dates in place, 3P will be turning its attention to solidifying headliners, exhibits, and activations. More information, including headliners and ticket sales, should be available sometime in May. In the meantime, the team is staying hard at work.

"There's buzz about this festival, about what we're doing, and about our community," Sinopoli says. "I think this community, every week, every month, is progressing. We have to progress with it, and not just improve our festival, but actually improve overall, because we are a part of the Wynwood community."

III Points 2014. Friday, October 10, through Sunday, October 12. Artists and venues TBA. Interested parties should contact 3P Productions via facebook.com/IIIPoints.
