We sure are glad Lauren "Lolo" Reskin was born on this day, 20-something years ago (a lady never tells). If you run into Sweat Records' legendary proprietress around town this weekend, feel free to bow and give offerings. Or just show up at the store tonight for her actual birthday, celebration of which continues, of course, at a special edition of Vagabond Fridays this week. (Think: John Hancock of Awesome New Republic backed by a whopping 11-piece band, to celebrate his new solo album. But more on that shortly.)

Crossfade and Lolo clicked over Britpop-loving geek-dom some years ago, so our pulse is quickening over the fact that tonight, Sweat hosts the Miami debut of the new Blur documentary, No Distance Left to Run. Named after a track on the band's underrated 1999 disc 13, the film tracks Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, and company across their 2009 reunion tour. Of course, heavily accented shenanigans ensue.

Admission to the screening is free, and the film starts at 8:30. Come early and hungry, though, for a vegan potluck kicking off at 6 p.m. Sharing is caring.
