Last year, L.A. music event, Hard, made its Miami debut with a pool party at the Fontainebleau during Winter Music Conference. Unfortunately, the lux setting and the MTV Spring Break atmosphere left us unhappy with the results. The lineup was killer, but the hotel's expansive pool area makes for a poor music venue.
Anyway, we thought Hard would return to the West Coast and we'd never hear from that particular party again. But the Cali crew is giving it another go, this time at Grand Central.
The event takes place Thursday, March 24, a day before Ultra Music Festival. The lineup hasn't been announced, but let us wonder who could possibly be on the bill: Some of Hard previous bookings include Simian Mobile Disco, Justice, Boys Noize, Busy P, Modeselektor, Crystal Castles, M.I.A., Die Antwoord, MSTRKRFT, Bloody Beetroots, Calvin Harris, Booka Shade, Rusko, Sinden, Skream, Sleigh Bells, Chromeo... Really, we could go on forever.
Is there a good chance some of these names might make an appearance at the Miami show? Maybe. Hard seems to have strong ties with Ed Banger, Boys Noize, and the more mainstream dubstep acts. However, Ultra's exclusivity could eliminate quite a few. No chance that Chromeo, Simian Mobile Disco, MSTRKRFT, or Boys Noize will be there, unless it's just a regular DJ set.
But even without a lineup, tickets are on sale via Fla.vor.us for $25. Question: Are you willing to put your faith in Hard's reputation and buy a ticket blindly?
