This year has been good for old South Florida favorites reuniting, from Floor, to Timescape Zero, and now to Glasseater. (Could a Disney Violence reunion from those old and bald fucks be too far off into the future? Who knows!)

On Saturday night, Glasseater will take the Churchill's stage for the final time in order to bring a varied and storied career to a clean and discernible end. Before all these cutesy hardcore acts began taking stock in their hair-dos and threads, Glasseater walked a fine line between indie glory and full mainstream acceptance.

For whatever reason, eventually the guys decided to stay out of the proverbial van and seek their individual glories in and out of music. But the bottom line is, this was a crew of really nice guys who made some good music! While I'm not entirely sure as to what became of their drummer, I have it in good faith that eternal teenager Juan Manuel Rotulo of The Getback fame has flown in from that shittiest of shitholes (NYC) to sit in on the skins for what promises to be a long set detailing the band's catalog.

Also sharing stage for the shenanigans will be the handsome men of Hit Play!, Arsenal 88, and recent Livid Records signees the Furious Dudes. Gaston de la Vega, a smooth voice on the radio in his own right and bassman for Hit Play!, has laid out a list of demands via a Facebook invite for what will make the evening that much better. This is what he says you are required to bring for admission (along with the cover charge):

1. Luchador masks
2. Costumes
3. Boogie boards
4. Costumes
5. Silly string
6. Championship wrestling belts
7. Plastic swords
8. Fake moustaches

...All of which I'm sure the Churchill's staff readily appreciates. Whatever. Come and have a good time. Get a little wild. Buy me a fucking beer while you're at it and enjoy a good show.

Glasseater. With Hit Play, Arsenal 88, and the Furious Dudes. 8 p.m. Saturday, July 31. Churchill's, 5501 NE 2nd Ave., Miami. Admission is $12; age 18 and up. 305-757-1807; churchillspub.com.
