Poplife just closed out its last Saturday at Electric Pickle (and its last official weekly for the foreseeable future). Still, someone's taking over the party's old venue. Get Some is the new Saturday shindig there, and it's sponsored by Shake Inc., Culture Parties, and BassHead Music.

"Get Some is a branch off Get Low, hence the name," said Sweat Records co-owner Jason Jimenez, referring to Shake's monthly, bass-heavy party - within - a - party. As such, Jimenez describes the spinoff as a Saturday party for people who can't come out to Get Low during the week, but with a little more musical variety.

Upstairs, Juan BassHead, Dj Wreck, Ash Rock, and Run Sevim Run will spin pulsating  Miami bass, dubstep, and a splash of drum 'n' bass. Downstairs, however, will be "more like a house party," says Jimenez, as DJ Hottpants, Manuvers, DS, and others play '90s dance music and old school hip-hop. And when you've partied so hard you have to take a breather, there are picnic tables, food, and live art outside, as well as a lounge with billiards.

"If you like music and you like dancing and you like the whole night club scene, this should be your one-stop shop," says Juan BassHead. "We hope people show up because they like the event as whole."

The sneak preview of the party is this Saturday, May 22, starting at 10 p.m., and anyone who RSVPs to [email protected] gets in free before midnight. Jimenez hinted that Saturday's preview might have some surprises and special appearances, too, so get out and Get Some.

Get Some sneak preview. 10 p.m. Saturday, May 22. Electric Pickle, 2826 N. Miami Ave., Miami. Age 21 and up. 305-456-5613; electricpicklemiami.com
