When confronted with the phrase French electronic dance music, you probably think of Daft Punk's glossy stadium house or brash punky indie electro by the likes of Justice.

But recently, les français have also emerged as formidable proponents of underground tech house, thanks to hot labels like Freak n' Chic, Robsoul, and Jetaime -- not to mention producers like Dan Ghenacia, Shonky, Dyed Soundorom, and Paul Ritch.

And another rising star on the French scene is DJ-producer Samuel Thalmann, AKA Okain.

At the turn of the decade, Okain came to international prominence with releases on esteemed labels like Bpitch Control and Tsuba, establishing his reputation for deep, driving peak-time grooves. It's a sound that's made him right at home in global hotspots like London's Fabric and Space Ibiza.

This Friday, go experience Okain's all-out tech assault when he makes his Miami debut with PL0T at the Electric Pickle.
