Latin Grammy-winning songwriter and international advocate of peace Juan Fernando Fonseca, known to fans simply as Fonseca, will be bringing Colombian tropipop to the house Jackie Gleason built.

Named after Ilusión, the singer's fourth record, Fonseca's latest tour will make the second of three Florida stops at the Fillmore Miami Beach on Friday, April 26.

"I wrote the album at a very important time in my life," Fonseca says in a YouTube interview with Las Gringas Blog. "It has a lot to do with my daughter, who was born two-and-a-half years ago."

For Fonseca, music has always been a therapeutic outlet. He says that each album is an aural representation of his life at a particular moment. And each album title, he adds, represents the general theme of the record.

"On one hand," Fonseca explains in the interview, "the inspiration for Ilusión was the birth of my daughter. But on the other hand, every album is a new project, a new goal, and a new inspiration. And that's how the title of Ilusión was born."

Fonseca hasn't revealed when he'll begin work on his fifth record, but a possible title he may want to consider is Embajador. Because the Colombian government recently named the 33-year-old songwriter as one of the country's brand ambassadors.

Fonseca. Friday, April 26. Fillmore Miami Beach, 1700 Washington Ave., Miami Beach. The show starts at 8 p.m. and tickets cost $52.50 to $84.75 via livenation.com. Call 305-673-7300 or visit fillmoremb.com.
