Since opening a year ago, the Electric Pickle has emerged as a bastion of quality underground music in a city otherwise tyrannized by commercial and ostentatious nightlife. Its weekly bookings showcase some of the top global contemporary electronic music talent, but in a refreshingly inclusive, no-bullshit setting. Thus, the Pickle has become a second home to many locals who were in dire need of a come-as-you-are venue in which to commune and get down to some sophisticated dance grooves. To celebrate, the club is throwing an anniversary block party this Friday that offers an eclectic all-star lineup.

First on the bill is London's fidget-house trio Filthy Dukes, of the esteemed Kill Em All club night at Fabric, who promise their notoriously intense live-electronics jams. Jeremy Greenspan of Junior Boys will stop by for an exclusive DJ set, as will Berlin techno veteran and Systematic label head Marc Romboy. Last, but certainly not least, is a highly anticipated set by Metro Area, the legendary electro-soul duo of Morgan Geist and Darshan Jesrani, which is widely regarded as one of the most original and influential acts in contemporary electronic dance music.
