Each year around Thanksgiving, we at New Times like to sit around the conference room table and share the things for which we're most thankful. And though we're plenty grateful for the web hits that Justin Bieber's baby drama produced this year, we're even more grateful for a crazy little thing called dance music. So we'll be raging hard this Saturday at our favorite holiday electro freak fest, Dancegiving, celebrating its second glorious year of Turkey Time beats.
The outdoor-indoor festival is a dance music extravaganza like no other. It goes down in downtown Fort Lauderdale, presenting 14 hours of uhntz-uhntz-uhntz and womp-womp courtesy of some of the hottest DJs in the world, including Wolfgang Gartner, Diplo, and MSTRKRFT. There's even an entire stage dedicated to dubstep, a nanny-nanny boo-boo to all the naysayers who said dub was dead. News flash, skeptics! Dub is here to stay. And dudes such as Ajapai, Juan BassHead, and Borgore will keep the low end wobbly at Dancegiving — not to mention Y-100's Cato K, who'll drop back-yard beats during the day. Be sure to catch his set and show him some Miami love.
