The "abandoned-treasure-turned-retro-sixties-alternative-atomic-bomb-dance-music-bar-institution" that is Do Not Sit on the Furniture (or Don't Sit for short) is officially opening its doors.
Don't Sit debuted its SoBe "living room" on Fourth of July weekend, but tonight marks the soft opening of the club, where owner and Electric Pickle veteran Behrouz will be taking the Beach back to the underground music days of the 90's and early 2000's.

"You are in our living room, in our house," Behrouz told Crossfade in an interview. "It's a house party made by DJs for DJs and music lovers. Our concept is about a small venue with a good sound system, proper DJ booth, and no bullshit."
Unlike the Pickle, the Washington Avenue and 16th Street hot spot promises to be more of an cozy space where you can sit stand with like-minded party goers and sip on a cocktail while jammin' to the musical spins of Behrouz, Will Renuart, or any of the surprise DJs on deck.
"It's a little intimate room, and not about big bookings," fessed Will Renuart. "You never know who's going to be playing... First of all, the club's smaller than the Electric Pickle, and this will be more like a membership establishment, as it's so small -- but not in a pretentious way. Membership is for people who are enthusiasts about the music."
But at the end of the day, for Behrouz, it's all about the vibe and having a good time.
"Our concept is just about people having fun and a cool atmosphere for people coming together to listen to good music."
