Vicky Bakery

Yet another Cuban bakery in Miami, but one that still takes pride in the quality of its food as well as customer service. Expect to find common items here, such as croquetas de jamón, delicious ham croquettes; and pastelitos de guava y queso, fluffy pastries stuffed with guava and cream cheese. But within Vicky's sterile walls and luminescent space, among the garden-variety baked goods and piñatas, you'll also discover some great sandwiches. Although sandwiches are common to Cuban cuisine, not all bakeries carry them, and of the ones that do, few make them well. You can rest easy when ordering a medianoche, sweet slices of bread sandwiching slices of ham, Swiss cheese, and roast pork, all served hot with a hint of pickle and mustard. Or enjoy its cousin, el sandwiche cubano, which features a larger portion of the same ingredients between two slices of Cuban bread. Or opt for the large and perfectly prepared pan con bistec, a mojo-infused steak sandwich with lettuce, tomato, and potato sticks. There are probably a thousand Cuban bakeries in this city, and Vicky is in the top ten.
