If you like rock en español, chances are you know Gustavo Cerati. The former frontman of Soda Stereo, considered by many to be the best Latin rock band of all time and the patriarchal trio behind the sound of contemporary Latin rock, is coming to the Magic City to promote his latest album, Fuerza Natural. The Latin legend has done it all, from incorporating electronica and orchestral arrangements into his music, to playing full stadiums from Buenos Aires to Los Angeles. Named Argentina’s artist of the decade and winner of four Latin Grammys (including best rock solo vocal album and best rock song), Cerati delivers musical offerings that would make his influences, such as David Bowie and King Crimson, proud. There is a reason why his album, Ahi Vamos, sold 50,000 copies in 24 hours: The man knows how to rock. Hold up your backlit cell phones this Friday at the American Airlines Arena’s Waterfront Theater.
