Is Louis CK the greatest comic of our time? The short answer, of course, is yes. But that answer doesn’t suffice for the millions of Louis CK fanboys and fangirls who track his every performance, appearance, and tweet with feverish anticipation, so we’ll explain:
He’s an artist. His show Louie, which is devastatingly on hiatus until 2014, is not only funny but also beautifully shot, expertly written, and impeccably acted by an intelligently curated cast of actors and comedians.
He’s devoted to his fans. This is the guy who bucked the standard ticketing system for his own creation in order to reduce prices for fans and eliminate scalpers’ markups.
And he’s funny. No, really funny. No, perfectly, tear-inducingly, can’t-breathe, retell-his-jokes-for-years hilarious.
All hyperbole aside, Louis CK is a living legend, and he’s coming to the Broward Center for the Performing Arts (201 SW Fifth Ave., Fort Lauderdale) this Wednesday for two shows, one at 7 p.m. and another at 10.
Wed., Nov. 28, 7 & 10 p.m., 2012
