For two glorious months a year, some of Miami’s finest (and priciest) restaurants offer special prix fixe menus that are both affordable and delicious. It’s a time when ordinary folks can feel like royalty as they wine and dine at some swanky establishments. This, dear friends, is Miami Spice. And in what has now become a yearly tradition, New Times’ Iron Fork event sets the grills in motion.
The night works like this: More than 60 of Miami’s most delectable restaurants offer samples of their fare. A soundtrack of trendy music plays in the background. A silent auction raises funds for charity. And then comes the chef cook-off. This year’s Iron Fork Challenge pits Aaron Brooks of Edge Steak & Bar against Todd Erickson of Haven and Huahua’s Taqueria.
Get your taste buds ready for the two months of Spice by attending Iron Fork this Thursday at the Hyatt Regency Miami (400 SE Second Ave., Miami) from 7 to 10 p.m.
Thu., July 31, 7-10 p.m., 2014
