In an effort to marry food and fashion, Toscana Divino (900 S. Miami Ave., Miami) will fly in sommeliers and designers and then pair them with chef Marco Stabile for Wine & Fashion Florence Week this Thursday and Friday. Stabile and fellow chef Julian Baker created the “L’accademia della Cucina Italiana” menu specifically for Wine & Fashion Week, featuring traditional, organic dishes and Tuscany’s finest wines. Sommeliers will provide pairings to go with the Italian menu, and each evening will begin with “Aperitivo Italiano,” a social hour with complimentary bites and cocktails.
Wining and dining, however, is just half the fun. Designers, also flown in from Florence, will create handbags on the premises. Tailors from one of Florence’s top luxury leather producers, Scuola di Pelletteria di Firenze, will be there as well. Maestro Alessandro Reggioli, who creates contemporary Tuscan-inspired art, will make original pieces on Thursday.
The best part: It’s free. All you have to do is eat dinner at the restaurant when it’s happening.
