At the second annual BBQ Throwdown, you cannot get just one rib, and no one will pour Coke into your hands for a dime. This is a back-yard barbecue contest thrown by the Miami Light Project, the über-classy arts nonprofit responsible for 20 years of kick-ass (excuse us, impeccable) cultural programming, so dont expect your uncles soggy hot dogs.
The MLPs board of directors has pitted two of its own Chairman Marlon A. Hill and supporter Dr. Roy Krochmal in a mano-a-mano culinary battle where the central ingredient is that most delicious of pork products: the rib. Your job is simple. Pay the $100 ticket price every cent of which is matched by the Knight Foundation to keep the MLP doing what it does then eat amazing food, drink cocktails, and receive two complimentary tickets to a 2010 Global Cuba Fest concert. If theres a more fun way out there to donate to a worthy charitable organization, well eat our own ribs.
RSVP to 305-576-4350 or miamilightproject.com. Location of the back yard will be released upon RSVP.
